Weather station
Weather station
A weather station is a facility with instruments and equipment for observing atmospheric conditions to provide information for weather forecasts and to study the weather and climate.
The measurements taken include temperature, barometric pressure, humidity and precipitation amounts. Wind measurements are taken as free of other obstructions as possible, while temperature and humidity measurements are kept free.
Instruments (sensors)
This weather stations have the following instruments:
• Thermometer for measuring temperature
• Barometer for measuring barometric pressure/air pressure
• Hygrometer for measuring humidity
• Anemometer for measuring wind speed
• Rain gauge for measuring precipitation
The Meteo programme includes various accessories and options to compose a system custom made for your application.
Anemometers
The anemometer is a rugged, reliable and highly accurate instrument.
Its low moment of inertia and unique bearings permit very rapid response to gusts and lulls.
Temperature
Temperature is a measurement of the average kinetic energy of the molecules in an object or system and can be measured with a thermometer.
It is a means of determining the internal energy contained within the system.
Humidity
Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. Relative humidity is defined as the ratio of the partial pressure of water vapor in a parcel of air to the saturated vapor pressure of water vapor at a prescribed temperature.
Humidity indicates the likelihood of precipitation, dew, or fog.
Air pressure
Atmospheric pressure is the force per unit area exerted against a surface by the weight of air above that surface in the Earth's atmosphere.
The barometers measuring and recording air pressure.
Barometer
Precision aneroid barometers are used for measuring the absolute atmospheric pressure.
Because of the excellent instrument properties an aneroid barometer is indispensable particularly for meteorology, ocean shipping, industry and research.
Rain gauge
A rain gauge is a type of instrument used by meteorologists and hydrologists to gather and measure the amount of liquid precipitation (solid precipitation is measured by a snow gauge) over a set period of time.
Circuit
Is composed of many components, such us resistors, capacitors, sensors, integrates.
Our circuit is programmed with an microcontroller, that is PIC.
Pic 18F452
PIC is a family of Harvard architecture microcontrollers made by Microchip Technology, derived from the PIC18f452 originally developed by General Instrument's Microelectronics Division.
The name PIC initially referred to “Programmable Interface Controller”.
PIC is are popular with both industrial developers and hobbyists alike due to their low cost, wide availability, large user base, extensive collection of application notes, availability of low cost or free development tools, and serial programming (and re-programming with flash memory) capability.
PIC is a microcontroller you can make a programme with computer and use this microcontroller to put the programme in a real proget and interface it.

Display
A display device is an output device for presentation of information for visual, tactile or auditive reception, acquired, stored, or transmitted in various forms.
When the input information is supplied as an electrical signal, the display is called electronic display.
Electronic displays are available for presentation of visual, tactile and auditive information.
Possible problems and solutions
The main problem that could have in our weather station is to detect the measures badly or not detect them.
Finding the solution of this problem is not difficult, you control if the sensors are disconnected or if some tracks are off, to solve is the accurated of dirt and leaves in the tank and it could block the detection of water fall; to solve the problem just clear the container.
Applications
The applications that can have this weather station are not a lot, for example we use it to give, in real-time, weather conditions.
The weather station can be placed anywhere, but the important thing is to set it in a place where it can be powered.
